Summer Adventure

Fernie is a true winter paradise! On its world famous powder you can enjoy skiing and snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, dog sledding, snowmobiling, backcountry touring and more.  With its mild temperatures and clear, blue-sky days, you're sure to discover all of the winter adventure waiting for you in Fernie.

Skiing & Snowboarding

If there is one word that describes the reason people travel to Fernie in the winter, the word "powder" it is.  Deep, fluffy powder.  Powder so deep you have to spit out mouthfuls of it as you cascade down the mountainside.  Powder so light you have to memorize the landscape in order to make your way through the trees between face shots.  So much powder, in fact, that the locals get tired of waking up and shoveling their way out of their driveways before heading to work.

With 29 feet of snow falling annually, Fernie Alpine Resort is an alpine paradise!  The resort boasts more than 2500 acres of powder, groomed runs, packed powder, varied terrain, featuring terrain parks and half pipe, five alpine bowls serviced by ten lifts
